(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October.
The 21-year veteran was a perfect 12-for-12 on field goal attempts, broke Mike Vanderjagt's consecutive field goal makes record with 43 straight and connected on all 14 extra point attempts. It's the fifth time he's won the award.
The Colts got T.Y. Hilton back in practice on Thursday, a good sign he'll play against the Packers.
Vontae Davis was a limited non-contact participant and Ted Monachino said he's hopeful the Pro Bowl corner can be on the field Sunday.
The Colts' DC also said while he's seen improvement in the defense, they have a long way to go.
"When we watched film on Monday, I felt like we defensively wasted a good defensive effort. If we could find a way to finish drives that we could have played winning defense. I know if you win by one-point that's technically considered 'winning defense' but we want to strive for better than that. We'd love to be the '85 Bears but we're not there yet."
