(INDIANAPOLIS) - After 6 potential candidates interviewed only 1 man separated himself to manage the Indianapolis Colts: Chris Ballard.
Ballard spent the first 12 seasons of his NFL career as a scout for the Bears discovering talent like Matt Forte and Charles Tillman.
The past 4 years he was in control of the player personnel moves with the Kansas City Chiefs.
From 2-14 in 2012 to 4 straight winning seasons, 3 playoff appearances and a ton of pro-bowlers, Chris Ballard fit the mold Jim Irsay was looking for.
The Colts will hold a press conference to officially name Ballard the new GM today.
