(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University will host the 2017 Big Ten baseball tournament at Bart Kaufman Field this spring.
The eight-team tournament will run May 24-28. It will be Indiana's first time hosting the Big Ten tournament.
Ticket information will be announced at a later date.
"We are very pleased to host the 2017 Big Ten Tournament at Bart Kaufman Field," Indiana athletic director Fred Glass said in a news release. "It is a fabulous baseball venue, and with our program's consistent level of success, we have developed a terrific baseball atmosphere here at IU."
This will be the first time since 2008 the tournament will be played at an on-campus facility. The tournament will to Omaha from 2018 through 2022.
Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio State have each won nine tournament titles, while Illinois and Indiana claimed tournament wins in 1996, 2009, 2013 and 2014. Purdue has one tournament crown.
Bart Kaufman Field is no stranger to hosting premier college baseball tournaments, having served as a regional host site for the NCAA Tournament in 2013 and 2014. The Hoosiers have ranked among the top two in the Big Ten and the top 35 in the country in attendance since the stadium opened.
The 2017 Big Ten baseball season will begin on Feb. 17. IU opens its schedule with a three-game series against Middle Tennessee beginning on March 10 at Bart Kaufman Field.
