(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - The Boilermakers dominated Illinois in a 91-68 rout as Isaac Haas led No. 21 Purdue with 24 points and six rebounds.
Caleb Swanigan overcame a four-point first half and was nearly unstoppable in the second with 18 points and five rebounds, finishing with 22 points and 10 boards.
"It was Illinois' game plan not to double us," Swanigan said of he and Haas' big performances. "You could hear their coaches yelling at them to pressure the ball. That was their game plan, and we had success with it."
Five Purdue players scored in double-figures, including 14 points from freshman guard Carsen Edwards. The Boilermakers shot over 60 percent from the field and just under 47 percent from 3-point range.
Purdue hosts Penn State on Saturday.
