Hoosiers Lose Fifth Straight

Last updated on Wednesday, February 22, 2017

(IOWA CITY, IA) - The Hoosiers dropped their fifth game in a row in a 96-90 overtime loss to Peter Jok and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Jok scored a game-high 35 points and rallied Iowa from a 13-point deficit. He also made a program record 22 free throws. In fact, the Hawkeyes went to the charity stripe 47 times compared to just 19 trips for Indiana.

"I'm not going to comment on the free throw disparity," Tom Crean said after the game. "I don't want to get myself in trouble."

The Hoosiers did themselves no favors with 22 turnovers. Robert Johnson led IU with 19 points while Thomas Bryant added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Hoosiers will finish with a losing record in the Big Ten just a year after winning the regular season conference title and barring a miracle turnaround, it seems unlikely they crack the NCAA Tournament field.
