(Indianapolis, IN) - The Pacers were leading 114-112 in the final seconds last night at Bankers Life, and needed just one defensive stop to send the Timberwolves home.
On Indiana's last defensive possession a questionable call on a 3-point attempt against Pacer Jeff Teague sent Minnesota's Ricky Rubio to the free line with 3.4 seconds to go. Rubio hit all 3 free throws and put Minnesota up 115-114.
The Pacers had one chance to get the ball in the hands of their superstar Paul George who already had 37 points on the night. Once PG caught the inbound he was immediately trapped forcing the ball to Monte Ellis who's desperation shot went wide.
The loss causes the Pacers to go from a 5-seed in the East to a 7-seed. They'll have a chance to make up some ground this evening when they meet the Grizzlies in Memphis at 8pm.
