(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - For the third time this off-season a member of the Colts has announced his retirement, this time it was 31-year-old offensive lineman Joe Reitz.
Reitz is retiring after nine seasons, seven of which he spent with Indianapolis. The Indianapolis native started just six games at right tackle last season as he was hampered by a back injury.
"As a native Hoosier, I look forward to staying in the community the rest of my life," Reitz said in a video posted by the Colts official Twitter account.
"Joe was a selfless player who was respected by his teammates and made a tremendous impact on the community," Chuck Pagano said in a press release.
Reitz joins Robert Mathis and Pat McAfeee as Colts who have retired since the end of the season while D'Qwell Jackson and Mike Adams were released.
