(Kansas City, MO) - The Purdue Boilermakers fell to the Kansas Jayhawks in the Sweet 16, 98-to-66 last night.
This marks the 18th consecutive season the Boilermakers have failed to make it past the regional semi-final.
The game was competitive through most of the first twenty minutes before Kansas went on a 16-to-3 run to close the half. From there, it was all Jayhawks down the stretch. They outscored Purdue by 31 points in the second half mainly behind Frank Mason the third's 26 points to bring the Boilermakers season to a close in blowout fashion.
Caleb Swanigan scored 18 points in what possibly could be his last game in a Purdue uniform. After the game, Swanigan was asked about his future plans to turn pro but said he has not yet thought about it.
Purdue's season ends after winning the regular season Big Ten title and advancing to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2010.
