(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) - Despite a big performance from Paul George the Pacers fell to the Charlotte Hornets 100-88 in the conclusion of their five-game road trip.
George scored a game-high 36 points and added 10 rebounds and five assists but the tandem of Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum was too much for Indiana. Walker led Charlotte with 28 points, 7 assists and six rebounds while Batum scored 21 points.
"We started the game flat," Nate McMillan said. "Not a lot of energy at all, and we dug ourselves in a deep hole."
Indiana scored only 16 points in the first quarter and stared at a 58-37 deficit at halftime. The 37 points matched a first-half season-low for a Hornets opponent.
The Pacers finish their five-game road trip 2-3 and return home to the Fieldhouse on Wednesday to host the Detroit Pistons.
