(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Butler Bulldogs officially introduced LaVall Jordan as their new head coach on Wednesday.
The 38-year old alum becomes the program's first black basketball coach, something both he and athletic director Barry Collier recognized.
"It is important," Collier said. "But frankly, we're always looking for the best we can get. And he is." Jordan added, "Black, yellow, green, orange... as long as you bleed Butler blue, that's what matters."
Jordan ended his press conference by saying he can't wait to get in front of the home town crowd at Hinkle Fieldhouse. "I can't wait for the first game when I listen and hear them chant 'B-U....T-L-E....R you a Bulldog?' I may have to stop coaching for a second and turn around and say, 'Hell yeah!"
