(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Paul George has told the Indiana Pacers he will not be returning to the franchise once his contract is up and will opt for free agency in 2018, according to multiple reports.
George's agent, Aaron Mintz, reportedly told Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard that George wanted to be forthright with the franchise and not have any confusion about his intentions.
Sources say the 27-year old would prefer to join his native Los Angeles Lakers once he becomes a free agent.
Pritchard has reportedly begun reaching out to multiple teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, for trade possibilities.
