(ORLANDO, FL) - The Pacers improved to 3-0 in summer league down in Orlando as they edged the Miami Heat 86-83.
First-round pick T.J. Leaf led Indiana with 19 points, 10 rebounds and a steal while Joe Young added 17 points and six rebounds. Indiana rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit and fought off a 29-point and 11 rebound effort by Miami first-round pick Bam Adebayo.
"The biggest thing was this was really the first adversity we had faced with being behind by as many as 11 points," summer league coach Popeye Jones said. "But we came together at halftime. One of the things we talked about from day one was having physical toughness and mental toughness."
The Pacers go for a perfect 4-0 when they face the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
