(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The injury bug continues to plague the Colts ahead of the regular season and it will force another starter to miss a decent amount of time as Vontae Davis will miss “multiple weeks” with a severe groin injury.
Chuck Pagano said Davis will be listed as week-to-week and that the injury occurred in last Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers. Davis joins the ever growing list of sidelined players that already includes Andrew Luck, Ryan Kelly, Erik Swoope, Malik Hooker, Clayton Geathers, Jack Mewhort, George Winn and T.J. Green.
Chuck Pagano said the swell of injuries is not only frustrating but also makes the roster decisions that much more difficult.
"We have to get this thing down to 53 by Saturday regardless of injuries. We may have to go to Player A or Player B or C, D, E, F, G, H for depth but we still need to have 53 by Saturday so this is a great opportunity on Thursday to see some young guys fight for a spot."
The Colts continued to make roster moves on Tuesday with the signing of running back Daryl Richardson. The move came after the team placed running back George Winn on injured reserve. Richardson most recently spent time with the Jaguars and Steelers.
In addition to Richardson the Colts also signed free agent running back De'Mard Llorens while waiving tight end Steven Wroblewski.
