(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Pacers waived center Kevin Seraphin on Monday.
The move came just hours before Seraphin's deal for the upcoming season would have become guaranteed and saves the Pacers close to $2 million in salary cap space.
The move was unexpected as management had talked about the 27-year olds' progress in the off-season and seemed to elude to a role for the big man.
After signing on as a free agent last season Seraphin played in just 49 games with the Pacers and averaged 4.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
