(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Colts officially announced Andrew Luck is ruled out for Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams.
It was expected news considering Luck has yet to practice with the team since having shoulder surgery in January.
General Manager Chris Ballard said while Luck activated off of the PUP list he is still "week-to-week" and said he will play when he is ready.
"The biggest thing is we need to get him incorporated with practice, and I think we need to think about this with every player, every player needs to practice," Ballard said. "They need to be with their teammates. They need to practice. Andrew's going to need the same thing."
Ballard also said center Ryan Kelly was "close" to returning while cornerback Vontae Davis was "going to be out a few weeks."
