(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - As the Pacers held their media day ahead of training camp Nate McMillan said it has been an offseason unlike any he can remember in his career.
"I've never seen a transition like this. We could be coming into the season with nine new faces on our roster and we know for a fact that there will be three new faces in the starting lineup. So it's a major change and not to sound like every coach but I'm excited. I think we have guys that have something to prove, some veterans, some young guys and I think they are all hungry to prove themselves."
In the offseason the Pacers traded Paul George and C.J. Miles, lost Jeff Teague to free agency and waived Monta Ellis.
The team also announced the signing of Jarrod Uthoff. The 6-7 forward was undrafted from the University of Iowa in 2016 and averaged 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game with the Dallas Mavericks last season.
Pacers training camp begins Tuesday with the first of four preseason games on October 4.
