(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Indianapolis Colts came up just short as they fell to the Cincinnati 24-23 to lose their third game in a row.
Bengals linebacker Carlos Dunlap tipped a Jacoby Brissett pass into the air, intercepted it and returned it for 16 yards with a go-ahead touchdown to give Cincinnati the 1-point edge. It happened with just under seven minutes left in regulation and would be enough to drop Indianapolis to 2-6.
Maybe more disappointing was that the Colts actually played well in the game, making the loss sting that much more. Jacoby Brissett threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns while tight end Jack Doyle led all receivers with 12 catches for 121 yards and a score.
"It's really frustrating, really gut-wrenching," Chuck Pagano said after the loss. "These guys worked their tails off, it was a hard fought ballgame and there were so many good things and the Bengals made one more play than we did."
The Colts schedule gets no easier as they hit the road for a game against Deshaun Watson and the high-powered Houston Texans offense.
