(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - The Purdue Boilermakers stunned No. 17 Louisville 66-57 in Tuesday night’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Vince Edwards scored 15 points while Carsen Edwards and Dakota Mathias each scored 13. It wasn't the prettiest game as both teams struggled shooting with the Boilermakers leading the category at just 33.3 percent.
On top of the poor shooting, Purdue overcame early foul trouble.
"To be in the position we were at halftime, I really felt fortunate," head coach Matt Painter said. "In the second half, we wanted to get the ball inside, get some points from those guys and I think we did a good job of that."
Isaac Haas finished with nine points but drew five fouls in the span of 2:05 to spur a 16-5 run by the Boilermakers.
Purdue improves to 6-2 and has knocked off back-to-back top-25 ranked teams in Arizona and Louisville. They visit Maryland on Friday.
