(MILWAUKEE, WI) - The No. 19 Purdue Boilermakers used a simple gameplan and cruised to an 86-71 victory over Marquette to improve to 3-0.
Purdue gave big man Isaac Haas a ton of action inside the paint as he led the way with 22 points and when the Golden Eagles would close down on Haas the Boilermakers relied on hot shooting from the other four players on the court.
Carsen Edwards scored 15 points to go along with six rebounds while Vince Edwards and Dakota Mathias each had 10. Purdue dominated on the boards with 34 rebounds to Marquette's 23 and shot a blistering 57 percent from the field.
"Just having the threat of Isaac Haas down there was too much for them," Boilermakers coach Matt Painter said after the game. "They didn't have an answer for him and when they did come and double, he did a good job of passing it up."
The Boilermakers go for 4-0 when they host Fairfield on Saturday.
