(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The Hoosiers bounced back from their embarrassing 20-point rout against Fort Wayne as they cruised past Tennessee Tech 87-59.
Josh Newkirk led Indiana with 20 points and six assists while Freddie McSwain Jr. came off the bench and added 12 points. The Hoosiers had 11 players score at least two points in the game and shot just under 45 percent from the field. IU forced the Golden Eagles into 16 turnovers and racked up 49 points in the second half. "It's been a tough couple of days, not just for players but our program," Hoosiers head coach Archie Miller said of his team digesting their loss to Fort Wayne. "It was very important," Josh Newkirk added on the win. "We had to respond." Kajon Mack led Tennessee Tech with 14 points. The Hoosiers get back above .500 at 7-6 and they have a full week until their next game on December 29 when they host Youngstown State.
