(NEW YORK, NY) - The Michigan Wolverines won their second consecutive Big Ten Tournament on Sunday as they defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 75-66.
Moritz Wagner led the Wolverines with 17 points while Zavier Simpsonm and Jon Teske were the workhorses down the stretch. Simpson dished a pass to Teske who slammed it with a two-hand dunk to put the game out of reach for Purdue.
The Boilermakers were led by Isaac Haas' 23 points and eight rebounds while Carsen Edwards added 12 points.
"A national championship is going to feel a whole lot better than winning the Big Ten," Haas said trying to find a positive note.
The Boilermakers defeated Michigan by a total of five points in both their regular season meetings but were unable to solve them a third time.
The Wolverines became the first team to repeat as Big Ten Tournament champs since Ohio State did it in 2010 and 2011. Both teams wait to see where they are headed in the NCAA Tournament.
