(Indianapolis, IN) - Yesterday Dwight Freeney signed a one-day contract with the Colts, hit the podium at Indianapolis’ football complex and officially retired from the NFL.
Freeney spent the first 11 years of his 16-year NFL odyssey with the Colts after being the 11th overall selection of the 2002 NFL Draft.
Freeney finishes his career currently in the top 20 in NFL history in career sacks, with 125.5 over those 16 seasons. All but 18 of those sacks were recorded as a Colt, with a career-high of 16 coming in 2004.
