(DETROIT, MI) - Ryan Hunter-Reay snapped his 42-race winless streak as he took the checkered flag in Race 2 of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix and capped off a big points weekend.
Hunter-Reay finished in second place in Saturday's Race 1 as he came up just short to winner Scott Dixon but he was able to put on a dominant performance on Sunday as he won by more than 11 seconds.
Hunter-Reay led 18 of the 70 laps and beat out Will Power, Ed Jones, Scott Dixon and Graham Rahal. Hunter-Reay finished the weekend by racking up 92 points between the two races to move to fifth in the points standings.
It was a disappointing Sunday for Alexander Rossi, who led Race 2 with 46 laps led but finished in 12th after suffering a mechanical issue.
