(UNDATED) - Oliver Luck is leaving the NCAA to become the first CEO and commissioner of Vince McMahon’s rebooted XFL.
The father of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was announced on Tuesday and said that he is excited for his next endeavor.
"It's not often that an opportunity to build a football league from scratch comes along. I came away very impressed with Vince, but also in the key ingredients for a viable launch and to keep things viable for the long haul."
Luck said he is excited to help bring a "reimagined, fast-paced and simpler game" as well as making all the games "affordable and family-friendly".
The XFL will launch with eight teams and a 10-week schedule in 2020 and currently have 30 cities in the running for XFL franchises.
