(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indiana Pacers forward Thaddeus Young exercised his $13.7 million player option for the 2018-19 season and will remain with the team.
Young averaged 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds this past season and was debating whether or not to go for a big money contract on the open market.
The 30-year old made his decision to stick with the Blue & Gold hours ahead of Friday's deadline.
Meanwhile, with the start of free agency looming the rumors are already starting to fly and the Pacers are being mentioned as possible suitors to try and land Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Gordon is a restricted free agent but the Pacers could sign him to an offer sheet, which Orlando would then have an opportunity to match.
