(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - As report day got underway for the Colts on Wednesday the big news of the day came from the man who Indianapolis has all their eyes on, quarterback Andrew Luck.
Head coach Frank Reich confirmed that barring any surprises the plan is to have Andrew Luck play in their preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks on August 9. It will be Luck's first in-game action since Week 17 of the 2016 season.
Luck spoke to reporters on Wednesday and said he is excited to be back in training camp as a full participant.
"There are no awards for walking on the field. My goal is to get better during every practice. There are going to be things I haven't seen or that I will have to remember when I have someone charging at me but by the time I speak to you guys next I want to have improved greatly."
The Colts will hold their first training camp practice as a full squad today from 1:30-3:30p.
The Colts placed three offensive lineman on the non-football injury list on Wednesday. Anthony Castonzo injured his hamstring while working out ahead of camp and GM Chris Ballard said last week he would likely have a delayed start to camp. Tackle Austin Howard and Denzelle Good were also put on the list with nondisclosed injuries.
Earlier this week, the Colts put safeties Malik Hooker and Clayton Geathers along with guard Jeremy Vujnovich on the physically unable to perform list.
