(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) The Indiana Pacers released veteran center Al Jefferson on Monday, according to Yahoo’s Shams Charania.
Jefferson signed a 3 year, $30 million deal with Indiana in 2016 and was entering the final year of his contract. His final year was only partially guaranteed, meaning the Pacers only owe him $4 million and saved $6 million against the cap.
Jefferson will now enter waivers for the next 48 hours but there is already speculation he could return to Indiana at a lower price.
