(SEATTLE, WA) - Andrew Luck played in his first football game in 19 months and looked good as the Colts held off the Seattle Seahawks 19-17 in Thursday’s preseason opener.
Luck played in Indy's first two series and went 6-for-9 for 64 yards. Both series led to field goals by Adam Vinateri, who was a perfect 3-for-3 on the night.
Luck also took a couple of hits and got right back up.
"It was kind of like the pressure was off for me and I really had fun," Luck said in postgame. "I didn't know if I'd have this much fun playing football."
Head coach Frank Reich also gave No. 12 high marks.
"Andrew looked good. That's exactly what we were hoping to get as far as him find a rhythm, moving the ball. Obviously, we want to finish in the end zone, but that was a good start there."
Of course, with good news comes bad news as running back Marlon Mack left the game with a hamstring injury and will be re-evaluated and cornerback Shamarko Thomas made infamous history as he became the first player ejected under the league's new helmet rule. Thomas launched himself into Seahawks receiver David Moore in the fourth quarter.
