(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Colts running back Marlon Mack is “no slam dunk” to be ready by Week One, according to head coach Frank Reich.
Mack injured his hamstring in their preseason opener and was expected to be sidelined for a few weeks but it now looks like his availability for the regular season opener is very much in the air.
"We're hopeful he'll be ready," Reich continued. "This next week is critical because obviously we want him to practice. We don't like playing guys who haven't practiced. So we're hoping he can be ready to go when we begin preparing for the Bengals."
The Colts currently have Jordan Wilkins, Christine Michael, Nyheim Hines and Robert Turbin sharing carries in the backfield but Turbin will miss the first four games to serve a suspension.
