(TALLAHASSEE, FL) - The Purdue Boilermakers suffered a heartbreaking 73-72 loss to Florida State in Wednesday night’s Big Tenn/ACC Challenge.
Purdue saw an eight-point lead vanish in the final 3:43 with Trent Forrest forcing a turnover with 16 seconds left and drove the lane to hit a go-ahead jumper with 5.2 seconds left to lift the Seminoles to the come-from-behind win.
The Boilermakers were held scoreless during that final 3:43 with head coach Matt Painter saying, "We didn't get the plays necessary. We just had to take care of the basketball and make better decisions."
Carsen Edwards led Purdue with 24 points while Ryan Cline added 21.
Purdue falls to 5-2 and next visit No. 7 Michigan on Saturday.
