(FAYETTEVILLE, AK) - The Indiana Hoosiers suffered their first loss of the season as they fell to the Arkansas Razorbacks in a 73-72 thriller in the Hardwood Showcase.
Indiana erased a double digit Arkansas lead in the second half but Razorbacks' forward Daniel Gafford scored a game-high 27 points while teammate Mason Jones hit a pair of clutch free throws in the final 2.5 seconds after being fouled under the rim by De'Ron Davis.
"We had a shot to win the game," head coach Archie Miller said. "Had a tap to win the game and had an unfortunate call that put them on the line. It was a 50-50 play. I don't know if he fouled him or not, but I know it was a tough call."
Romeo Langford led the Hoosiers with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Juwan Morgan added 15.
The Hoosiers first loss of the season also happened to be their first road game of the season. They get to return to the comforts of Assembly Hall when they get back in action Tuesday against University of Texas-Arlington in another Hardwood Showcase match-up.
