(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - Jeff Brohm will remain at Purdue after turning down a chance to return to his alma mater as head coach of Louisville.
Brohm released a statement on Wednesday and said "while going home was very appealing and meaningful to me, the timing was not ideal."
Brohm met with Louisville AD Vince Tyra on Tuesday and was said to be a front-runner since the team fired Bobby Petrino earlier this month.
Reports say Brohm received a sweetened deal from Purdue for sticking with the Boilermakers and will make "well over"$5 million annually including incentives and bonuses. For comparison he was making $3.8 million in the new deal he signed in April.
