INDIANAPOLIS—The Greenfield man accused of trying to sell U.S. secrets to Iraq has finally given up trying to represent himself in court.
Shaaban Shaaban stumbled through 20 minutes of trying to question himself on the witness stand before asking the attorney who's been standing by throughout the trial to take over.
Shaaban is charged with trying to sell a purported list of C-I-A agents to Iraq before the war. He contends he has a twin brother whom prosecutors maintain doesn't exist.
