(UNDATED) - Specialty license plates available for cars will now be availalbe for motorcycles, too.
Govenor Mitch Daniels has signed a bill authorizing new specialty motorcycle plates to benefit sponsoring organizations. The Bureau of Motor Vehicles will hold a $25 surcharge per plate in a trust fund, and hand over the proceeds once a year.
Riley Children's Hospital will be the first beneficiary. BMV Commissioner Joel Silverman says the plate should be available in May or June.
Daniels is an avid motorcyclist. He says he plans to buy a Riley plate when he's up for renewal next April.
