(UNDATED) - A new study says the number of children taken from their homes by child protection workers in Indiana is on the rise.
The National Coalition for Child Protection Reforms says 13% more kids were removed from their homes in 2004 than in 2003.
In all, almost 7,000 children were separated from their guardians. The study's numbers show that represents a 45% hike since 1999.
