(PULASKI COUNTY) - It’s the week of Spring Break for the Eastern Pulaski Schools.
Before the kids left last Friday the schools thought they'd be observing Eastern Time when Indiana goes on Daylight Saving Time. Superintendent Dr. Bob Klitzman says they got word Friday after school that Pulaski County would have to officially observe Central Time or be in violation of Federal law.
The Eastern Pulaski District has students from both time zones. Klitzman says most businesses in the county will continue operating on an Eastern time schedule, so the school corporation will too. He calls it "commerce time."
The biggest problem is letting all the parents know. There are no radio or TV stations in Pulaski County. He says there's only a weekly paper. He's concerned about the families gone for Spring Break.
