(UNDATED) - Indiana’s Department of Agriculture plans a stepped-up outreach effort to help livestock farms coexist with their communities.
The program is an expansion of one already underway for hog farms. The program is set to reduce the stench they produce while reassuring communities.
The state plans a pilot program this summer to offer farmers incentives to tighten their environmental performance.
The plan was unveiled in a first-anniversary report on the newly-independent department.
