(JASPER) - The debate over which time zone Dubois County will observe appears anything but concluded.
More than 800 attended a Monday night meeting to voice their views on the topic. County Auditor Martha Wehr says a majority of the assembled masses signed in in favor of Eastern Time.
The county was switched away from the majority of the state earlier this year after the U.S. Department of Transportation completed meetings across Indiana and determined which counties would adopt Central Time.
Wehr says she's not surprised by Monday's large turnout, which she says included a vocal audience which applauded when it heard a statement it agreed with. Wehr says the County Commissions could make a decision regarding the matter as soon as their next meeting on April 17th.
