(SEYMOUR) - Seymour Police Chief Craig Hayes says the two Seymour officers and Indiana State Trooper involved in the fatal shooting of an amber alert suspect are on administrative leave pending an investigation.
Hayes says 45-year old Thomas Evans was shot Thursday after he displayed a cocked handgun and ignored orders to get out of his car.
An autopsy showed Evans suffered a fatal wound to the chest and was also hit in the arm and legs. It isn't known which officer fired the fatal shot.
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday after Evans abducted his two-year old daughter. The girl was returned to her mother unharmed.
