(NEW ALBANY) - The mother of a 12-year old murder victim who was tortured before she died back in 1992 is speaking out about the release of one of her daughter’s killers.
Jackie Vaught says there's never a day where she doesn't think of her daughter -- Shanda Marie Sharer -- and having one of her daughter's killers released is painful.
Hope Rippey walked out of the Indiana women's prison early Friday morning. Rippey served 14 years - though she was sentenced to 50. Sharer was beaten and burned near Madison, Indiana.
