(UNDATED) - In order to promote the use of ethanol fuel, some gas stations appear to be taking a loss.
A gallon of so-called E-85 fuel costs stations about $3.36 a gallon to purchase. Yet, some of these same stations were selling that gas at about a fifty cent discount to that price this week.
Officials with the Central Indiana Clean Cities Alliance praise the work of gas station owners who take the financial hit themselves in order to help the state's burgeoning ethanol industry.
