(UNDATED) - Indiana Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman has given out more than 2.5-million dollars in statewide community development grants through the NAP, or neighborhood assistance program.
Locally, Southern Indiana Center For Independent Living in Bedford received $10,000. In Orange County, the Orange County Habitat For Humanity received $5,000. Monroe County received a big chunk of the pie with 18 organizations getting nearly $560,000.
Each year, NAP offers tax credits for distribution to not-for-profit organizations with the goal of building public-private partnerships for neighborhood-based programs.
