(MARTINSVILLE) - A 73-year-old Morgan County woman has been ordered by a judge to stop practicing midwifery following the death of an infant she delivered.
Doris White delivered a premature baby girl in Martinsville in May of 2005. The infant died six days later.
White was indicted in November of 2005 on a felony charge of practicing midwifery without a license. A permanent injunction was issued against White, but she told the judge she couldn't promise to abide his orders.
