(GAS CITY) - Governor Mitch Daniels was in Gas City Wednesday to announce the creation of a debit card for those collecting unemployment insurance.
Daniels says the cards will save the state a million dollars a year in check printing and mailing costs and will allow recipients to receive their benefits sooner.
Daniels says Gas City was chosen as part of a "small-town policy" his administration advocates.
The governor says the debit cards should be distributed by the end of the year.
