(UNDATED) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration seized several shipments last month from Mediplan Prescription Plus and its affiliated websites, including rxnorth.com and canadiandrugstore.com.
It classifies ten drugs it tested as counterfeit because they fall short of the proper formulas.
AARP Indiana president Nancy Griffin acknowledges online purchases can be risky, but says the organization won't tell seniors not to do it.
Buying drugs from Canada is technically illegal, but the ban is rarely enforced.
Griffin says the AARP still wants the FDA to legalize it and impose safety rules.
