(UNDATED) - Indiana’s strategic highway safety plan has been finalized following approval by the federal highway administration.
While the strategic plan provides strategies to reduce the number and severity of traffic accidents, it also incorporates a plan to improve the skills of Hoosier motorists.
Construction zone safety is another concern and Indiana Department of Transportation spokeswoman Megan Kaderavek says there's a new set of signs coming out this year, alerting motorists about construction.
The safety plan is focused on construction workers and INDOT employees and includes the identification of safety improvements along rural roads, which can be created, simply by relocating or removing obstacles along the roadway.
