Fire Kills VFD Fire Fighter

(MADISON) - One volunteer firefighter is dead and another fire official is seriously injured following a house fire near Madison.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze says Kent Volunteer Firefighter Greg Cloud was unable to escape the blaze at the rural horse farm.

Madison Township Fire Chief Robert Black fell from a ladder while trying to rescue the 33-year-old victim. Black underwent surgery to repair a serious ankle injury.

Little King Farm has about 300 miniature horses on the property.
