(INDIANAPOLIS) - The old air traffic control tower at Indianapolis International was demolished early this morning.
Several charges brought down the 140-foot tower. A large amount of the debris, mostly concrete with some steel, will be recycled.
The Federal Aviation Administration required the airport to demolish the old structure before mid-November because it creates a small blind spot to controllers working in the new 340-foot tower.
