(TOBINSPORT) - State Police have arrested a man after his three-year-old son died from a self-inflicted gunshot in their rural Perry County home.
Police reports say Kenneth Cronin fell asleep at home. The mother, 38-year-old Shannon Cronin returned home to find their son, Wyatt, lying on the bedroom floor with a gun nearby. The Perry County Coroner pronounced the boy dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound to his chest.
Further investigation revealed that the unsecured pistol was located in a television cabinet in the master bedroom. Police say Kenneth Cronin has a felony drug conviction which prohibits him from possessing firearms.
