(NEWPORT) - The U.S. Army says almost a third of the VX nerve agent stockpiled at the Newport Chemical Depot in western Indiana has been destroyed.
Officials say the project could be finished before the current target of spring of 2008.
Right now, more than 30% of Newport's original stockpile of about 250,000 gallons of VX has been chemically neutralized.
